The aim is to ensure that students develop the ability to integrate their learning through a combination of academic and work-related activities. At The Prime School, our aspiration is to ensure that applied and work-integrated learning is a significant feature gained by our graduates, with an emphasis on student centred learning.

It is an excellent opportunity for students to spend an extended period of time undertaking genuine work tasks with workplace supervision. Students learn to integrate previously studied theory with its practical application in the workplace and are able to develop professional competencies for the future. For applied learning, students are given industry projects by our industry mentors as part of their assessment module, either as individuals or as a team. Projects are evaluated by our academics together with industry mentors. As well as learning to integrate and apply previously studied theory, students are able to develop their skills in project management and client liaison, and may be required to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Saito Logistics students get to visit various divisions in the Safeguards Oceanic Warehouse in Petaling Jaya and are shown the various processes in freight and warehousing operations, haulage, tracking and customs and forwarding.

What Our Students Say

Syahirah Bt Razuki

Bachelor of Business in Logistics Management and E-Business (Honours)

I am Syahirah from BBLME A3. While I am a part time student, I work at a Logistics Command Centre as a Management Trainee at Safeguards Oceanic, Kuala Lumpur. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to gain experience and knowledge. Even though working while studying is not the easiest thing to do, this experience taught me a lot and improved my learning skills. Besides, I am glad that I have my lecturer, dean and college who are very understanding and gave me the flexibility to manage my compact schedule. As a management trainee, my main responsibilities were monitoring, reporting and improving our logistics system. It is challenging but I believe this gives me a positive impact for my future and improves my skills. In my opinion, a logistics course opens up a huge field to explore. And that makes it interesting and special, something you will not get from other courses. To me, I define Saito University College as an angel, because in almost everything they help me and provide a lot of benefits for me to grab, especially my department which is The Prime School Integrated Logistics.

Tan Poh Yee

Bachelor of Business in Logistics Management and E-Business (Honours)

I am Tan Poh Yee from BBLME A2. I am a part-time student working in Logistics as a Customer Specialist. I am glad that I am able to work in the field while I study, and I’m thankful to my company which is willing to give me a chance to work and study at the same time. As a Customer Specialist, my main responsibility is to manage and control space, document submission and also understand customer requests. It is a challenging work and will require you to understand on a port's working procedures. I think logistics course is fun and interesting. While you are learning on the knowledge, you are also adapting yourself to the country’s economy and development. I’m able to explore things and terms which I don’t often use in normal life. Meantime, I’m able to understand the main economic activities in a country. At the same time, I’m able to know what is the procedure and the method used to produce goods. Logistics is not only about transportation. It is more to a whole production line which matters to the whole world, where goods need a simplified and complete production line to deliver to the end users. The main thing is, I think a logistics course is an important course, and acts as the ticket for a person to go into the Logistics field. Saito is a unique college where they actually support students to combine their Work and Study Programme. It allows students to be able to work and gain experience, and at the same time to finish their study. It is a hard work for the college to accomplish this challenge as most of the students are unable to have normal study hours, and the lecturer will need to sacrifice their after-work hours to spend on the students for their studies. Saito really does a good job in managing all of it. I am glad that I joined SUC and am part of their family.
